Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 29, 2026
Olympia Noise Co., LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile applications Patterning : Drum Machine, Patterning for iPhone (including the Patterning+ subscription and one-time unlock), Patterning 3, Ribbons, dot Melody, and Chordion (collectively, the "Apps").
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. By using the Apps you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Apps and stop using our Service.
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. The Apps run mostly offline and don't require an account.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Email address — only if you contact us at support@olympianoiseco.com, sign up for our newsletter, or use an in-app feature that asks for it. We never collect your email automatically.
Information collected automatically
- Diagnostic and analytics data — anonymous usage events (e.g., which screens you visit, which features you use, crash logs) collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics by Google LLC.
- Device identifiers that Apple and Firebase generate (e.g., the Identifier for Vendor, anonymized analytics identifiers). We do not collect a stable, app-independent identifier and we do not use these for cross-app tracking.
- App Store transaction records — when you make an in-app purchase or subscribe, Apple shares the transaction (product ID, purchase date, subscription status) with the App through StoreKit so we can grant or restore your unlock. We do not receive your name, billing address, payment method, or card details — Apple processes payment.
- SKAdNetwork — we use Apple's SKAdNetwork framework to measure the effectiveness of any advertising campaigns in an anonymized, privacy-preserving way. SKAdNetwork provides aggregated conversion data (e.g., whether an ad led to an install or purchase) without revealing any personally identifiable information. Apple manages the attribution process; we never receive data that could identify you individually.
Photos
- Photo Library — if you choose to set a custom image as drum kit artwork, the App will request access to your Photo Library. The selected image is stored locally on your device within the App's data and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Patterning → Photos on iOS.
Information we do not collect
- We don't access your contacts, microphone, location, or calendar.
- We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't run third-party advertising SDKs.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites for advertising purposes (Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework is not invoked because we don't engage in tracking as Apple defines it).
In-app purchases and subscriptions
Patterning for iPhone (and other Apps where applicable) offers paid features through the App Store:
- Patterning+ Monthly Subscription — auto-renewing monthly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Auto-renews unless turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS.
- Patterning+ One-Time Unlock — non-consumable lifetime purchase. No subscription, no recurring charge.
You can restore previous purchases at any time using the Restore option inside any paywall in the App.
Apple's privacy practices for App Store transactions are governed by Apple's policies, which are independent of this policy.
How we use the information
We use what we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Apps and their features.
- Verify and restore your subscription or one-time unlock.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes.
- Understand which features are useful so we can improve the Apps.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Send you newsletters or product announcements if you've opted in.
We do not use your data for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to operating the Apps.
Legal basis (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal basis for processing your data is:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the App functionality and your in-app purchases.
- Consent — for newsletter sign-ups and any optional analytics where consent is required.
- Legitimate interest — to fix bugs, prevent fraud, and improve the Apps.
- Compliance with law — when we must respond to a legal obligation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA): You also have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@olympianoiseco.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law. Anonymous analytics data may be retained longer to identify usage trends. Subscription and purchase records are retained for the lifetime of your entitlement and as required for tax and audit obligations.
Sharing and transfers
We share data only with the providers we use to operate the Apps:
- Apple Inc. — for App Store distribution and in-app purchase processing.
- Google LLC (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) — for anonymous usage and crash reporting. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
We do not sell your information.
Olympia Noise Co., LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Apps from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.
Security
No system is perfectly secure, but we use industry-standard practices to protect what we collect. Payment information never touches our systems — Apple handles all purchase processing.
Children's privacy
The Apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@olympianoiseco.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects when the latest version took effect. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email if we have your address. Continued use of the Apps after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
