Ondes version 1.1 is on the way!  While I’m fixing bugs and updating the documentation I’ll be posting here to let you know about some of the cool new features coming with the update.

First up : Swarm Oscillators!!

When Ondes came out, I stumbled upon a post about Ondes that linked to a really awesome instrument called the “Swarmatron.”  Maybe you’ve heard of it?  Anyways, I couldn’t help myself from bringing part of this super cool idea over to Ondes!

The new SWARM section of Ondes includes two extra oscillators that share the same timbre and modulation as the primary oscillator.  Both oscillators can be de-tuned by up to an octave in either direction from the primary oscillator.  You can slightly detune them for a thicker sound, or use the coarse tune to create chords from a single touch.

But what makes the swarm really special is the ‘lag’ setting.  By turning up lag, the two swarm oscillators lag behind the main oscillator, taking extra time to catch up and come into tune.

This can create really wild phasing and portamento effects.  It's a super unique and cool effect that adds a whole new range of possibilities to Ondes.

Ondes version 1.1 has a ton of new features --- check back soon to hear more about what's cooking.
